L. Bryan McClain, Sr. Pastor
A native of Mississippi, Brother Bryan as many call him on the Northern Neck of Virginia has been the Pastor of White Stone UMC for over six and a half years. Ordained an Elder in 1995, Rev. McClain is a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary (M-Div. 1992) in Washington DC, and Mississippi State University (BA Communication Theory – 1986).
Prior to pastoring White Stone UMC, he served a total of eight and half years in the United States Air Force. Four years as an active duty chaplain stationed at the Air Forces training grounds of Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. This led him to his one and tour of duty in Balad Iraq as a Hospital chaplain at the 332 AEW Combat Hospital in Balad. He finished out his Air Force time as an IMA Reservist serving at Langley AFB. Rev. McClain was honorably discharged as a Major after suffering a Heart condition in 2011.
Though he is no longer in active or reserve military service, his health is strong as his faith. Before his time of service, Rev. McClain also served the following Methodist appointments. The Bethel/Emmanuel Charge, the Culpeper Curcuit -(Jeffersonton, Oak Shade, Woodland Churches); Williamsburg UMC (associate) and the Sussex Charge (Sharon and Fort Grove churches). Brother Bryan is married to Stephanie and they have three children; Nancy, Erin, and John. Stephanie is a School Teacher at the Chesapeake Bay Governors School at the Warsaw Campus.
Julie Williams George
Julie is Ned & Hazel Williams youngest daughter and is married to "Silky" George.
She is retired now and donates her hours to her Church.
Russell Keller
Originally from Harrisburg, PA., Russell brings with him his many years of experience making him a valuable team member as our Church Sexton.
He is the Father of two Daughters and the Grandfather of two Granddaughters. He moved to Virginia as a teenager and enjoys fishing, cooking and building models in his spare time.
He is engaged to fellow Church member Stacey Corbin.
Tonya Spears
Tonya Spears has been involved with church music since becoming pianist for Children’s Worship at age 10. She was full time pianist for the church two years later, continuing until her sophomore year in college. She has been involved in accompanying and leading a variety of musical groups ever since, from preschoolers and youth to children and adult choirs, as well as a ladies’ ensemble.
Tonya most recently was Music Director/Pianist for St. John’s UCC in Pottstown, PA. Her 3-year term ended this February when she moved to Weems with her husband Rusty.
Tonya enjoys teaching piano lessons, sewing and embroidery, gardening and playing with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Barquer. She and Rusty have three children.
