Reverend L. Bryan McClain

McClain, Bryan_Staff PicThe Rev. L. Bryan McClain has been pastoring churches for over 25 years.  Ordained in 1992 as a deacon, he has served in the Virginia conference for 23 years. Along with serving as pastor of White Stone UMC, he has served at; The Sussex Charge – Fort Grove, and Sharon United Methodist Churches,  Associate at Williamsburg UMC, The Culpepper Circuit; Jeffersonton, Oak Shade, & Woodland UMC, The Bethel – Emmanuel Charge; Bethel and Emmanuel UMC.

In between his tenures at the Bethel-Emmanuel Charge and White Stone, Rev. McClain served four years of active duty service in the USAF.  Stationed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio TX to the Permanent Party Chapel, he did one tour in Iraq as a hospital chaplain at the 322 Expeditionary Wing in Balad Iraq.

In 2008 he and his family returned to Virginia and the Northern Neck where he continued to serve as an IMA Chaplain at Langley-Eustice Joint Base. In 2012, after suffering a major health set back, he was medically discharged as a major and returned to full time parish ministry.

He has been married to his lovely wife Stephanie for 19 years and has three children Nancy, Erin, and John.  They also have two dogs, two cats, four chickens and who knows what else. The McClain’s also own and operate a family/church retreat house in White Stone.
